One of the key purposes of the Centre for Professional Personnel and Development is to facilitate the CPD of the profession. We are able to do that in a number of ways.
For the Individual and the Organisation
General updating – make use of our Hot Issues and the archive facilities of our Research Forum; Breakfast Seminars; Tutor Publications; and Working Paper Series. Attend the MMUBS/CIPD annual conference which explores one of the years key issues in more depth.
Particular interests - register on our email alert system and join us for a Breakfast Seminar to explore the latest research in your area of interest and network with others with similar interests or attend our biennial Performance And Reward Conference.
Getting up to speed – has your job changed focus? Have you been given some new responsibilities? You can attend any of our core or option modules for one evening per week, usually from January for ten weeks.
These include:
One to One Coaching – for Senior Executives and those that prefer personal coaching any of the above can be offered on a one-to-one basis by arrangement.
Need Some Career Planning Assistance – we can offer a career development planning service either for individuals or on an in-company basis.

So when David Fairhurst, Senior Vice President, Chief People Officer for McDonald’s returned to his former university and asked a selection of MMU Human Resource students to predict the trends in HR of 2008, we jumped at the chance.
