Key Information For Placement Searching

Placement searching, own placements, guides, resources and support

A placement year enables students to gain graduate-level work experience with one or more organisations, over a twelve month period, as part of their degree. If you choose to enrol on a 4 Year sandwich degree course, you will spend Year 3 on an industrial work placement. Our dedicated Business Placements team can help support you.

Our Services

As a sandwich student, you have access to a range of placement related and careers & employability resources, that will assist you in searching for, applying for and securing a placement.

It is your responsibility to be pro-active and apply for placement opportunities, as the placement jobs market is very competitive. Some larger organisations may stipulate that you need to have high academic standards in year 1, in order to apply for their placement opportunities (2:1 or above in year 1). So it is important that you perform to the best of your ability throughout your university studies. We recommend that you start researching companies and opportunities during your first year and apply for positions from the start of your second year.
