POST-graduate PR courses are set to benefit from industry insight as part of a new partnership.
Students will get invaluable advice and training covering core PR and marketing topics, ready to apply to real-life industry situations.
Dr Jane Tonge, senior lecturer in marketing communications, said: “Our strong links with local communications agencies and creative industries enriches our course. Students learn about how PR professionals apply theory to practice, which gives them an enviable head start in employability.
“We are delighted to have One as part of our portfolio of businesses supporting the curriculum, mentoring students, and providing invaluable contacts with industry.”
The programme, which currently enrols 25 students, is offered as a full-time and part-time course and aims to equip graduates with a blend of academic and practical public relations skills to enable them to work successfully in a quickly evolving sector.
Alex Hamilton, social media manager at One, said: “The lines between PR, digital and social media are very blurred. With more and more brands adding social to their main communications channels, it’s important for budding PR professionals to understand how social media and digital play a bigger part in the marketing mix.”
