MMU goes on YouTube

MMU Business School is turning to YouTube to reach a new audience of busy professionals.

A promotional film for an e-marketing course, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, was posted on YouTube last week and has received more than 650 visits to

The Professional Development Award (PDA) in e-Marketing delivered by MMC Learning – an arm of MMU Business School – is an online course which appeals to working professionals.

And Dean of the Business School, Huw Morris, believes other courses could follow suit on the video-sharing website.

Professor Morris said: "MMC Learning’s YouTube addition is a definite example for us to consider following in other parts of the Business School and University."

The PDA in e-Marketing is a 45-hour course, studied over ten weeks and backed by a team of e-learning tutors.

Diane Earles, regional director of CIM, said such short courses were excellent additions to a CV: "A lot of people are out there trying to get into the marketplace, so you've got to find something that will make you stand out from the crowd."

MMC Learning, headed up by Imran Farooq, describes itself in the video as 'providing cutting-edge learning content to professionals in small and large companies in more than 50 countries'.
