Quality TV – My Part in Its Downfall!
Speaker: Gavin Hill, Broadcast Journalist
Gavin Hill began his journalistic travels hoping to follow in the footsteps of Alan Whicker, John Simpson and John Pilger.
Instead he found himself orchestrating student orgies in hot tubs, naked romps by drunken rugby players, brain experiments by mad surgeons, pseudo-psychological life sessions by life coaches and the disastrous dropping of the world’s largest rubber band ball into the Grand Canyon – to see how high it would bounce!
The TV industry he loved has changed beyond all recognition in the last two decades. But the power of the visual media has not diminished. Gavin will give an insight into the fascinating world of TV journalism and explain why PR practitioners need to become more savvy to secure broadcast coverage for their clients.
