Professional Accounting

This part-time programme, developed in partnership with ICAEW, provides an accelerated route to achieving your professional accountancy qualifications, and a degree. Day-release classes at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School enable you to enjoy studying at university whilst you are working.

During the programme you will have the opportunity to achieve:

  • Four ICAEW exemptions after 12 months 
  • ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) and a further four ICAEW exemptions* 
  • BA (Hons) Professional Accounting and a further four ICAEW exemptions 
  • ACA from ICAEW BA (Hons) Professional Accounting Δ

*To be awarded the CFAB qualification by the ICAEW students must also successfully pass one external ICAEW examination, namely ‘Accounting’ or ‘Financial Accounting & Reporting’.

Δ Subject to a minimum class size of 15. An alternative training provider may be recommended if the minimum is not achieved.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Grade C or above in English Language or Mathematics
  • 280 UCAS tariff points, including 200 at A2 or accepted alternatives
    (eg BTEC or the New Advanced Diplomas)
  • AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3
  • International Baccalaureate 29 points
  • An Access to HE Diploma will also be considered
