Student Support Services

MMUBS Student Support Officer

The Business School Student Support Officer is available to assist students in developing the academic skills they need to succeed in their studies. Support is via taught skills sessions, podcasts and one-to-one consultations with individual students. If you recognise you need help in improving any aspect of your study skills – including reading and researching, academic writing, critical thinking, presentation skills, revision and exam preparation, amongst others - you can contact the Student Support Officer to make an appointment, or make an appointment via the SIP, for detailed advice or you can access one of the podcasts.

The Student Support Officer also offers general advice and guidance on other issues or concerns that you may have whilst you are studying, such as course change, money problems, disability or dyslexia, accommodation issues, and personal/emotional difficulties. So, if you are struggling with any aspect of university life and you are not sure who you can talk to about it, contact the Student Support Officer who should be able to advise or refer you to the appropriate service within or outside the university.

The Student Support Officer is based on the ground floor of Aytoun Building and during term time will normally be available for fifteen minute drop-in consultations. Times for drop-in sessions will be available from the Student Information Point (SIP), Ground Floor, Aytoun Building.
